Eisner and Lubin
Challenge: The fruitwood paneled walls presented a unique challenge.
Our client valued the newly installed walls, and wanted artwork to complement
them rather than compete with them.
Solution: Black and white photographs of New York City in simple
ebony stained walnut frames provides a strong, yet neutral contrast to
the walls.
Galen Associates
Challenge: To find a theme for a richly designed space.
Solution: The reception area artwork of Grand Central Station from
above with people milling about set the tone (the client is located just
above Grand Central Station). The other works selected throughout were
closely aligned with this abstract/representational theme.
Merrill Lynch (Met Life Building)
Challenge: The Branch Manager wanted to evoke the financial presence
and strength of “Wall Street” in their midtown office.
Solution: A photo-etching commission depicting the downtown financial
district achieved this in their main reception area.
Merrill Lynch (Citicorp Center)
Challenge: The main floor was composed of two opposing preferences
in artwork. In one area were senior advisors who wanted a more traditional
feel to their space and two other sides had younger brokers who wanted
a more modern feeling.
Solution: The reception area starts with modern abstract artwork.
As you walk around the office through the side that is mostly conference
and meeting rooms, the art becomes more and more traditional, with a transition
of abstract landscapes to traditional landscapes.
Natsource
Challenge: Natsource advises on environmental and weather predictions
for the energy markets. Artwork was needed that tied these factors into
the design of the space.
Solution: Paintings that give the feel of the changing weather.
SBLI (Savings Bank Life Insurance)
Challenge: A large, mostly open space with many uses varying
from customer service to executive offices.
Solution: Overall, we felt there was a need to add color and
life into the drab space. Each department and area was then separated
by themes of artwork. The reception area has colorful landscapes expressing
open space and calm, the boardroom has color photographs of trees depicting
solidity and strength, and the customer service area has fine art reproductions
expressing activity and energy.
UPM Kymmene
Challenge: Being one of the largest paper manufacturers in the
world, this company wanted to stress their concern with the environment.
Solution: Color photography of nature by a renowned photographer
that represents the company’s philosophy.
